Greece Demands Compensation from Germany for Damages During World Wars
Greece has announced that the issue of war reparations from Germany remains open. This was stated by Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias after a meeting with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau in Warsaw.
He emphasized that this decision is fundamental for Greek society.
Greece is demanding €309.5 billion from Germany for damages incurred during World War II, €9.2 billion for World War I, and over €107.2 billion in compensation for the deaths and disabilities of its citizens. Earlier, Poland also demanded reparations from Germany for damages suffered during World War II, to which the German Foreign Ministry responded negatively.
