Saakashvili Collapses During Court Hearing

The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, collapsed during a court hearing regarding illegal border crossing. This has been reported by TASS.

The court session was being held at the 'Vivamed' private clinic in Tbilisi.

“Today we found out that President Saakashvili lost consciousness against the backdrop of high blood pressure and a seizure after representatives of the prosecutor's office invaded his room and tried to organize a judicial process yesterday,” stated the American lawyer of the political figure, Massimo D'Angelo.

“Of course, we cannot talk about the details yet, but at this moment we can state that Mr. Saakashvili's health condition has significantly worsened,” the lawyer added.

Saakashvili's trial took place in the hospital on Tuesday.
