Driver Charges 50 Dollars to Take WHO Conference Guest from Airport to Yerevan Center: Report

From Zvartnots Airport to Yerevan Center for 50 dollars (over 20,000 drams): This was reported by Facebook user Angela Kzhdyan.

“Currently, a major WHO conference is taking place in Armenia, with about 500 people arriving from various countries. A taxi driver at the airport offered to take one of the guests for $20 (about 8,500 drams), but upon arrival demanded $50 instead,” Kzhdyan wrote.

“Recently, many international events have been held in Armenia, attracting numerous guests. These events are important not only for their main purpose but also for presenting our country and current situation to the world, essentially creating 'brand ambassadors' for the future. We can afford to present ourselves better and not scam people from the very first moment. How can we address this issue? I don’t hold high hopes for the morality of taxi drivers.”
