Discussions are Ongoing on Creating an International Mechanism for Baku-Stepanakert Dialogue, Says Mirzoyan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, has confirmed reports that after a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan in Geneva, elements of a peace treaty were conveyed to the Armenian side, based on five previously shared principles.

According to Mirzoyan, “The five known principles provided by Azerbaijan in mid-March have been published, and our community, as well as the international community, are well aware of these principles. We have publicly stated that, in essence, there is nothing unacceptable. This time, the proposals conveyed by the Azerbaijani side are structured around these principles. Certainly, there are aspects that we are still analyzing and will definitely respond to. There will be proposals that we find acceptable, and others that will not be acceptable. We will have suggestions, and a normal negotiation process will continue.”

Mirzoyan detailed that most of the Armenian side's concerns relate to Nagorno-Karabakh: “Currently, addressing this issue is part of the negotiations.” He elaborated that there is a viewpoint advocating the creation of an international mechanism for Baku-Stepanakert dialogue: “Discussions are underway on this matter. When we have one position and Azerbaijan has another. When we reach a mutually acceptable position, we will definitely inform you.”
