VIDEO: I Graduated from School at 16, Matured for 2 Years, Then Joined the Army – Aghazaryan

The National Assembly is discussing the "State Program for the Development of Education until 2030." For MP Hovik Aghazaryan of the "Civil Contract" faction, the issue is important, but he finds "one thing remains unclear."
"As far as I know, the 12-year educational system has come from European countries, and I do not know how the conscription process is conducted there, but let's talk about our country: When I graduated from school, I was 16 years old, I matured for two years, then I joined the army, whereas now, students finish school and go to the army," Aghazaryan stated, with his words echoed by the head of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharyan.
"Excuse me, Mr. Kocharyan, my not very favorable attitude towards your committee is relevant. It is true that the youth is 18 years old, but he is a graduate, and now, could you tell me how it is in Europe?" inquired the ruling party MP.
He mentioned that in the 11th and 12th grades, children do not attend classes, do not learn, and are "wasting time."
NA President Alen Simonyan, in response to Aghazaryan, said that in European countries, there is mainly no mandatory military service.
