US Embassy in Baku Calls on Azerbaijani Authorities

The US Embassy in Baku has expressed deep concern regarding recent reports of Azerbaijani soldiers executing unarmed Armenian prisoners of war on its official Facebook page.

“We call for a full and impartial investigation. Those responsible for any atrocities must be held accountable,” the statement read.

On October 2, a video surfaced on Azerbaijani Telegram channels showing Azerbaijani servicemen brutally shooting Armenian soldiers who had already surrendered at an Armenian combat post.

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Kristinne Grigoryan, stated that the killing of Armenian prisoners of war by Azerbaijani forces occurred on September 13, during Azerbaijan's large-scale attack against the Republic of Armenia.

On October 3, the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters submitted the circulated video of the killings of Armenian soldiers to the European Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice.
