Ukraine has taken the initiative into its own hands: Zelensky

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has announced that Ukraine has taken the initiative on the battlefield and is achieving tangible results. Zelensky reported that the village of Yampol in Donetsk has come under the control of Ukrainian forces.

“There is significant progress in the east of the country. We are also making advances in the city of Lyman, Donetsk,” the Ukrainian president stated. According to Ukrainian sources, five nearby settlements around Lyman are now also under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It should be noted that the Russian Ministry of Defense has issued a statement saying that allied forces have abandoned the village of Lyman due to the threat of encirclement, and the troops have retreated to more favorable positions.
