Video: Allen Simonyan on Discussions Regarding Leaving CSTO

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Allen Simonyan, expressed surprise that a discussion regarding the withdrawal from the CSTO is taking place with Andranik Kocharyan, the head of the National Assembly Defense and Security Committee, and the extra-parliamentary forces. In response to a question from MediaHub, Simonyan first stated that he was unaware of such discussions and then expressed his astonishment: 'Is the issue of leaving the CSTO being discussed at Kocharyan's level?'

When it was clarified that the initiators of this initiative are from the extra-parliamentary forces, Simonyan replied, 'I don't think this is a matter to be discussed in this format... many people can discuss many things.' In response to the question of whether there is currently such an agenda, the Speaker of the National Assembly said he doesn't know if such an agenda is established and whether it should be discussed by the extra-parliamentary opposition in Kocharyan's office. 'Such decisions are not made in that way,' he added.
