Twenty Parents of Soldiers Testify Against Jalal Harutyunyan
According to information from the "Joghavor" newspaper, parents of conscript soldiers who served in the Tsori military unit have also testified in relation to the criminal case initiated against the former Minister of Defense of Artsakh, Jalal Harutyunyan.
As reported by the "Joghavor" newspaper, before charges were brought against Jalal Harutyunyan, 20 parents of soldiers who died in the military unit were questioned and provided specific testimonies against him. The parents detailed who they believe to be responsible for the deaths of their children.
It is important to note that one of the charges against Jalal Harutyunyan, who led the Artsakh Defense Army during the 44-day war, concerns the circumstances surrounding the deaths of artillery soldiers in the Tsori military unit.
Harutyunyan, who was severely injured during the 44-day war and subsequently dismissed from his position, faces another charge related to the actions that led to significant losses of manpower and military equipment for Armenian units on October 7 during a counteroffensive. As a result of his actions, additional units became non-combat ready, and the positions they held came under the control of the adversary.
Additionally, in connection with the deaths of soldiers in the Tsori military unit, there is a detained individual: Major Gevorg Gevorgyan, who is the Deputy Commander of the Artillery Division of the Defense Army. His case is currently in court.
