Putin on Western Interventions in the CIS Region
Western powers are devising scenarios to incite new conflicts in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, while existing conflicts, such as that between Russia and Ukraine, are a result of the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a video conference with the heads of CIS intelligence services on Thursday, as reported by TASS.
“We also know that the West is drafting scenarios to incite new conflicts in the CIS region,” he stated. “But what we have is already enough,” emphasized the Russian president.
“It is enough just to look at what is happening now between Russia and Ukraine, what is happening at the borders of some other CIS countries. Of course, all this is the result of the collapse of the Soviet Union, that is all clear. But the risks of destabilization are still increasing, including the risks of destabilization across the entire Asia-Pacific region,” Putin concluded.
