Putin and Erdogan Hold Telephone Conversation
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation today. During the call, the leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine. This was reported by the Turkish presidential office, as noted by Kommersant.ru.
Erdogan stated that Russia and Turkey continue to work towards the uninterrupted export of Russian fertilizers and grain products. He also expressed interest in extending the grain export agreement from Ukraine.
According to the television report, during the conversation, the Turkish president mentioned his satisfaction with the completion of the prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine. Erdogan urged Vladimir Putin to continue negotiations with the Ukrainian side and expressed his readiness to support this matter.
The Kremlin's press service reported that Vladimir Putin thanked his Turkish counterpart for Turkey's contribution to reaching agreements concerning the Istanbul agreement. The Russian leader reiterated the need to lift restrictions on the supply of food and fertilizers from Russia as part of the grain deal.
