“Don’t Play with the Feelings of the Iranian People”: Iran's Foreign Minister

Nothing significant is happening in Iran, stated the country’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, asserting that there will be no regime change in Iran. This information was reported by the IRNA agency.

He emphasized, “I assure them that nothing special is taking place in Iran. There will be no regime change in Iran. Don’t play with the feelings of the Iranian people.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister reminded that the death of Mahsa Amini is being “seriously investigated,” noting that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who is one of the senior officials promising a thorough investigation, has called Amini's family.

Amir-Abdollahian referred to many of the protests as the results of foreign media and external agitation. “Iranians are emotional people and have pure feelings. In the first hours after the incident, they were holding peaceful protests. Now, everyone is waiting for the conclusion of the investigation by the judicial system. However, at the same time, there were some external elements, such as satellite channels and certain websites, which encouraged people in Iran to go out into the streets and become violent. That’s why the demonstrations turned into violent protests and riots,” he explained.

He added, “If the U.S. truly cares about the Iranian people, they can see the fact that thousands of Iranian children have died due to the sanctions imposed by them. Those people die every day because of their sanctions.”
