Anti-Corruption Court Denies Release of David Tonoyan from Detention
The Anti-Corruption Court has refused to release former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan from detention. This information was confirmed by Tonoyan’s lawyer, Sergey Hovhannisyan, in a conversation with Armenia Today.
According to Hovhannisyan, the court rejected their motion regarding substituting the detention measure with bail. “As bail, David Tonoyan’s only property, valued at 35 million drams, was offered. The court denied the motion, citing that Tonoyan had been a former Minister of Defense and could potentially influence witnesses,” he stated.
The lawyer noted that the court has continued to keep Tonoyan in custody for the same reasons, as it had decided eight months ago.
