VIDEO. Soldiers' Bodies Have Been in the Ravine for 13 Days, MoD Has Taken No Action: Parent of a Missing Soldier

After the recent Azerbaijani aggression, relatives of missing servicemen are holding a protest near the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. Among them, the father of conscript Seriozha Ghazaryan, Serzhik Ghazaryan, spoke to reporters, stating that he has had no news about his child for 13 days. “Mr. Pashinyan, the public is already in despair. I appeal to you as a parent of a soldier: you are expected to look at the people through the eyes of a soldier and convey your message to the people who are currently in distress. Mr. Papikyan, it has been exactly 13 days, and I have no news about my child and the other children. What measures are you taking? For 13 days we have injured and dead in that ravine. You are doing nothing to at least evacuate the injured in time; the children could have been saved by now. This is about Verin Shorzha, where we have had casualties and injuries. In 13 days, jackals and vultures are tearing the bodies apart; how are we going to hand them over to their parents? We have given a healthy child to protect the homeland, and today we are in an impossible situation. But I will stand by my soldier, my officer,” he said.

According to the soldier’s father, they last had contact with his son on the morning of September 13. “That area has fallen under Azerbaijani control. Why was there no offensive on that day to retake the positions and order the soldiers to retreat so that we wouldn't have this many captives and casualties? There are no search operations there,” he stated.

When asked about their next steps, the soldier’s father replied, “I won't say anything now; God willing, everything ends successfully. I am waiting for the Ministry of Defense to evacuate the captives or the bodies from that ravine. I have looked at all the pictures; my child's fate is unknown at this moment. I don’t know if he has been captured, killed, or is missing.”
