Video: Russia's FSB Arrests Japan's Consul in Vladivostok
The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has announced the arrest of Japan's consul in Vladivostok, who is accused of espionage.
According to a statement from the FSB, the diplomatic official, Motoki Tazunori, was caught in an espionage operation related to the Japanese consulate in Vladivostok. The statement mentioned that the diplomat was detained for distributing information subject to limited dissemination regarding aspects of Russia's cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region and the impact of Western sanctions on the economic situation in the Primorsky Krai region.
Tazunori has been declared persona non grata, and a diplomatic protest has been lodged with the Japanese side.
