We Need Not a Moratorium on Loans, but a Forgiveness: Simonyan on Citizens Called for Mobilization
The Russian government has approved a decision to preserve the jobs of mobilized citizens. Mobilized citizens will be able to retain their employment contracts and return to their previous workplaces later. The employment contracts of Russian citizens called for partial mobilization will be suspended, but not terminated.
But what will happen to the loans of Russian citizens called for partial mobilization? For instance, RT’s chief editor Margarita Simonyan suggests on her Telegram channel that instead of a moratorium on loans, we should implement a forgiveness program. She also noted in her post that what she wrote does not mean that such a decision has been made. She simply believes that it would be the right decision.
