Pashinyan and Blinken Meet in New York

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York during the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. This information was provided by the press office of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister addressed the extensive aggression directed against Armenia's sovereign territory by Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of the clear position and assessments voiced by the U.S. regarding the events. The head of the Armenian government appreciated Mr. Blinken's personal efforts in supporting the negotiation process and dialogue.

Pashinyan also underscored the significance of the international community's condemnation of Azerbaijani actions, the withdrawal of Azerbaijani units from Armenia's sovereign territory, the return of Armenian prisoners of war held by Azerbaijan, and appropriate responses to other humanitarian issues.

Antony Blinken highlighted the U.S. willingness to continue efforts towards negotiations and peace processes, stressing the necessity for a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. The U.S. Secretary of State emphasized the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in New York and expressed hope that dialogue will continue in the future.

The meeting also exchanged views on the ongoing development of Armenian-American relations and other issues of mutual interest.
