Tigran Avinyan to Be Appointed Deputy Mayor Tomorrow: 'Zhoghovurd'

The Armenian authorities have decided to appoint former Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan as the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan at any cost. Despite the postponement of the Yerevan City Council session due to military operations that began on September 13, according to information from 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, the authorities have not backed down from their plan. Furthermore, the City Council session is set to take place tomorrow, September 23.

We have learned that the very first item on the agenda is the question of Tigran Avinyan's appointment as Deputy Mayor of Yerevan. In total, 23 items are included in the session's agenda, but for the authorities, the current priority is the appointment of Avinyan. Although tensions persist along the borders, this has not deterred them from executing their plan.

It is noteworthy that Tigran Avinyan is the candidate for mayor from the 'Civil Contract' party, and even though there is still a year until the next Yerevan city council elections, it would not be wrong to say that Avinyan has already begun his campaign and is conducting PR activities, even against the backdrop of the tragic explosion at the Surmalu shopping center.
