Jalal Harutyunyan Summoned for Questioning

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the Investigative Committee of Armenia has summoned the former Minister of Defense of Artsakh, Jalal Harutyunyan, for questioning after filing charges against him.

According to "Zhoghovurd", the Investigative Committee has invited Harutyunyan to the Special Cases Department for further interrogation. The newspaper attempted to clarify the information with Harutyunyan's lawyer, Arsen Sardarayan, who stated that he could not provide any information.

It is worth mentioning that reports indicate that all personnel of the Artsakh Defense Army have been questioned in connection with Jalal Harutyunyan's case. Recall that during the 44-day war, one of the two charges against Harutyunyan, who led the Artsakh Defense Army, pertains to the circumstances surrounding the deaths of 20 artillerymen from the Tsori unit. Harutyunyan, who was seriously injured during the war and subsequently discharged from his position, faces another charge involving the consequences of his actions, which resulted in significant losses of personnel and military equipment for Armenian units during a counteroffensive on October 7, rendering reserve units incapable of fighting and losing control of previously occupied fire positions to the enemy.
