EU Will Not Participate in Ukraine Conflict, Borrell Says
The European Union will not participate in the Ukraine conflict but will continue to provide military assistance to Kyiv and pursue anti-Russian sanctions, said Josep Borrell, the head of European diplomacy, in a press briefing reported by РИА Новости.
“This will not happen; we are not participating in the war and will not participate. We do not intend to take part directly; we will support Ukraine. The recipe remains the same: military support, economic and individual sanctions,” Borrell stated.
Russia previously sent a note to NATO countries regarding weapons supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine.
