Azerbaijan Misleads the International Community with Deceptions: Statement
The Center for Law and Justice, the Tatoyan Foundation, has issued a statement.
"Yesterday, on September 21, 2022, the President of Azerbaijan reiterated threats of aggression (use of force) against Armenia, particularly the entire Syunik region, with overt threats and blackmail of war.
Having illegally invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia for two years, they falsify claims that they did not invade during the military actions of September 13-15, 2022.
We clarify for the international community that this policy of the Azerbaijani government has a clear mechanism: 1. To appear 'innocent' and 'clean' to the world, they proclaim that they desire peace; 2. Then they resort to blatant false statements claiming that they are being fired upon from Armenian or Artsakh positions, thereby 'justifying' future attacks; 3. After that, these fabrications are systematically spread by Azerbaijani officials and 'independent' experts, media outlets, and Telegram channels, thereby 'legitimizing' Azerbaijan's future provocations and attacks; 4. By creating artificial 'grounds', they deliberately conduct attacks that devastate Armenian settlements, destroy people's homes, steal large and small livestock, or kill them, depriving families of their livelihood; 5. They kill and torture servicemen and civilians, capturing and disseminating footage of these acts to gain admiration among Azerbaijani users and inflict psychological suffering on Armenian users; 6. The Azerbaijani government encourages these crimes and ensures complete impunity; 7. And most importantly, the Azerbaijani government continues its anti-Armenian sentiment across all sectors, from education to culture.
In reality, Azerbaijan is misleading the international community with deceptions, concealing its true genocidal intentions under the guise of peace and pushing them forward by all means. Therefore, urgent international interventions are necessary, including monitoring and control mechanisms. As long as there are no concrete guarantees and accountability, Azerbaijan will continue this policy and its attacks, continually undermining security, democracy, and human rights in Armenia."
