Shoigu Reports on Russian Casualties in Ukraine
The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, speaking about the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine, stated that there is significant and difficult combat work currently underway, which the soldiers are executing with honor.
According to RIA Novosti, Shoigu emphasized that they are fighting not so much against Ukraine but rather against a collective West. He pointed out that the West is supplying Ukraine with a substantial amount of weapons, including about 70 military and over 200 civilian satellites, while the entire NATO bloc operates in favor of Ukraine’s interests. Meanwhile, Kyiv is increasingly using Western weapons to strike at civilian populations.
According to Shoigu, Ukraine has already lost half of its army, with 61,207 killed and 49,368 wounded, while the Russian military has suffered 5,937 casualties.
Note that Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on partial mobilization. “I consider it necessary to support the proposal for conducting a partial mobilization to defend Russia, its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Only citizens in reserve will be called up, and they will undergo additional training considering the experience of the special operation. Mobilization activities will begin today,” the President stated.
He added that those mobilized to participate in the special military operation will receive compensation and the status of a contracted serviceman. “The West has crossed all boundaries; irresponsible politicians are discussing the supply of offensive weapons to Ukraine and military strikes against Russia. Western countries are pushing Kyiv to carry military operations into Russian territory,” Putin remarked.
It should be recalled that Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24.
