Police Statement on Incident in Yerablur

The actions of the police are under investigation, as stated in a release by the Police of Armenia: "On September 21, during the events held at the Yerablur Military Pantheon, police officers carried out their functional duties, during which several citizens were brought to the police station. By the order of the police chief, these actions are being studied, and the public will be informed of the results. We urge not to use the incident for political purposes and considerations. Let us not forget that from the very first day, the police have been participants in the struggle for our freedom and independence, and Yerablur is a holy site for police officers as well, where dozens of their comrades who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland are laid to rest. The grief of all parents who have lost children is shared by every police officer with the same sorrow they feel alongside the parents of their fallen friends. Yerablur is a sacred place for all of us, and we all share the undiminished pain and deep respect for the bright memory of our heroes."
