Lemkin Institute's Red Flag Publication is a Warning of Another Genocide: Serj Tankian

Musician and lead vocalist of the rock band System of a Down, Serj Tankian has commented on the publication by the Lemkin Institute for the Prevention of Genocide. The institute released a statement on its official website, highlighting Azerbaijan's intent to commit genocide with a red flag.

“The Lemkin Institute has published a Red Flag warning to underscore the genocidal intentions in the context of the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan. If various actors in the international community fail to respond promptly to this issue, we will witness yet another genocide against the Armenian people,” he wrote.

“The Lemkin Institute wishes to draw attention to our latest Red Flag warning released on August 15, in which we called on all international and state bodies to monitor Turkey and Azerbaijan for genocidal ideologies and behaviors, to pressure Turkey and Azerbaijan to halt their genocidal threats against the Armenian people, and to strengthen the security of Armenians and Armenian identity in the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Artsakh, and throughout the global diaspora.”

International organizations and states can no longer ignore Azerbaijan's aggressive behavior towards the Republic of Armenia. If its actions remain overlooked and unpunished, as they have been so far, the world will soon witness an escalation of violence against Armenians and another genocide,” the Lemkin Institute's publication states.
