Kremlin Comments on Borrell's Statements

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, who announced his support for the idea of a tribunal against Russians, lacks authority in Russia due to his unacceptable statements, said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Borrell stated that he supports the idea of establishing a tribunal for Russian actions in Ukraine.

Commenting on the possibility of creating a tribunal, he spoke about the Russians but preferred not to mention the Ukrainians who have committed war crimes. At the same time, the head of European diplomacy did not specify who among the Russians he believes should appear in court.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Borrell, as the head of European diplomacy, does not have proper authority due to his completely unacceptable statements made, and therefore we will treat all his statements accordingly from now on,” Peskov told reporters.
