One person has died following a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Mexico. The quake struck the port city of Manzanillo (Colima), where a wall of a shopping center collapsed onto an individual, according to NBC News, citing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The earthquake occurred on the anniversary of two other deadly earthquakes in Mexico, from 1985 and 2017.
Earlier reports indicated that a major earthquake had struck in eastern Mexico. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the seismic activity with a magnitude of 7.6 has affected residents in the state of Michoacán.
