VIDEO: "My Abilities are Well-Known" - Tatoyan on Potential Prime Minister Candidacy
Former Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan announced today that he is set to engage in active public activities. He stated that he is not currently involved in any political process.
"I will be conducting active public activities related to a foundation, we need to note the urgent issues and fill in the gaps. Regarding the question of being a prime ministerial candidate, I believe the public knows my abilities well, and I know my abilities well myself; at this moment, I see myself here," Tatoyan said during a meeting with reporters.
Tatoyan also mentioned that he participated in a spontaneous gathering near the building of the National Assembly as a citizen of Armenia and not as part of any political movement. He made this statement during a press conference.
"That was a spontaneous gathering, and I participated as a participant of the event. I spoke as a citizen of Armenia to express my concerns, which were not new; what I said wasn’t news. It wasn’t a party movement; I have not been part of such processes, and I am not. I have always stated that if I find it appropriate and see that this is the right way, I will announce it," Tatoyan noted.
Tatoyan has established a new foundation and has elaborated on the activities he has initiated.
It is worth mentioning that on September 14, many citizens of Armenia decided to hold a protest rally after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in parliament that the Armenian side wants to sign a document that would lead many to call them traitors, but they would be satisfied and grateful that Armenia would gain lasting peace with a territory of 29,800 square kilometers. The citizens demanded a resolution to the issue of liberating the homeland and called for Nikol Pashinyan and the current authorities to resign. They urged opposition deputies to express no confidence in the prime minister and start a signature collection. They gathered 35 votes, but still needed 18 more votes from the ruling party, which were not collected.
