Rumors Circulate About Enemy Diversion or Spy Groups Observed in Martuni, Masis, and Shaki: Nairi Hohikyan

Interethnic relations expert Nairi Hohikyan writes: "Rumors have been circulating since yesterday that enemy diversion or spy groups have been observed, particularly in Martuni, Masis, Shaki, and several other settlements. Strangely enough, in all reported cases, these groups allegedly entered shops to inquire about the population, military, and strategic objects. News about one such incident travels at lightning speed by word of mouth and, thanks to Facebook, reaches Tavush within minutes from Syunik.

While the infiltration of enemy diversion groups cannot be ruled out, it is a common tendency for people to exaggerate situations. In other words, to turn a twig into a log. In Shaki, for instance, it has been discovered that the so-called "enemy diversion group" was actually composed of Armenian deserters. It is not unlikely that similar rumors have spread in other areas to keep up with the trend. Why wouldn't there be enemy saboteurs in our community, based on that principle?

I reiterate that any enemy action cannot be excluded, but to combat it, we must remain vigilant and collaborate with local law enforcement agencies. The public deserves to know the truth, but only verified information, without gossip or panic."

It should be noted that Auroranews has also received similar alerts from the city of Alaverdi and has provided specific details and clarifications.
