NASA Releases Map of Fires Caused by Azerbaijani Attacks in Armenia

NASA has revealed a map showing the fire zones that emerged in the border areas of Armenia following the Azerbaijani attacks.

The U.S. space agency provides this data as part of its FIRMS (Fire Information Resource Management System) geoinformation system, which monitors fires worldwide.

The map confirms that fires mainly occurred in the areas of Vardenis, Jermuk, and Sisian, with fewer occurrences noted in the Goris region.

It is important to recall that since the night of September 13, Azerbaijani armed forces have been intensively shelling Armenian military positions, as well as peaceful communities in Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Gegharkunik. Armed clashes of varying intensity have continued in different directions, including Sotk, Vardenis, Artanish, Goris, Kapan, Jermuk, and Ishkhanasar.

By the evening of September 14, an agreement for a ceasefire was reached. As of September 19, the number of casualties and missing persons on the Armenian side stood at 207, including three civilians. A total of 293 soldiers and 7 civilians were injured, and 20 soldiers were taken captive.
