Erdogan: Putin Ready to End Ukraine War as Soon as Possible

Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an interview with American PBS television.

“We had extensive discussions with Putin in Uzbekistan. And he informed me that he is ready to finish this as soon as possible. That is my impression, as the situation is developing quite troublingly,” said the Turkish president.

Erdogan stated that he is striving to “bring this conflict to a peaceful conclusion.”

“This is a conflict that has led to casualties. People are dying, and in the end, no one wins,” he added.

The Turkish leader also mentioned that Moscow and Kyiv have agreed on the exchange of 200 prisoners.
