The report states that Tracy's official appointment will depend on whether Russia agrees to accept her as ambassador. Currently, Tracy heads the American diplomatic mission in Armenia. She previously worked in Moscow from 2014 to 2017 as the Deputy Chief of Mission. If her nomination is confirmed, she will become the first woman to hold the position of U.S. Ambassador to Russia.
