VIDEO: That Night Azerbaijanis Were Supposed to Reach Nakhichevan and Cut Off Zangezur - Aghazaryan
In our country, war cannot start because we are already in a state of war. This was stated by Civil Contract faction MP Hovik Aghazaryan during a live broadcast on Radio Aurora.
To the journalist's observation that despite everything, we are moving towards peace with Azerbaijan, which is in conflict with our country, Aghazaryan responded: “There have been countries that fought each other for 100 years and then moved towards peace. There have been countries that have killed each other in millions and then moved towards peace. So what are you proposing? Do you want us to remain in eternal war with our neighbors? Seeking peace and making the peace agreement an obsession should not be the case. That does not mean we should not strengthen our defense.”
Aghazaryan stated that Armenia is aiming to strengthen its defense so that the voice of the Armenian side carries weight.
The MP also addressed the army's budget, noting that the budget for our army has significantly increased.
“Today, the average military personnel is in a very good psychological state. I have young friends and communicate with them; they are in a very good psychological state because they feel the state is by their side. As a result, we were able to withstand the recent incursions by Azerbaijan. This was not a trivial situation; the real aim of Azerbaijan was to reach Nakhichevan and let no one try to deny that. That night, Azerbaijanis were supposed to reach Nakhichevan and cut off Zangezur,” Aghazaryan said during our broadcast.
