There Are Issues That Need to Be Raised and Resolved: Pashinyan's Address
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a message to the participants of the 9th Armenian-Russian Interregional Conference. In his message, he stated:
“Dear friends, ladies and gentlemen, I warmly welcome all participants of the Armenian-Russian Interregional Ninth Conference.
Despite the difficult situation created by Azerbaijan's aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, we have decided not to postpone the planned working events today, considering their importance for the development of Armenian-Russian relations.
Interregional cooperation between Armenia and Russia plays a crucial role in the development of our countries' strategic partnership, contributing to the further expansion of bilateral cooperation potential.
It is no secret that the purpose of the conferences is to establish new connections in trade, commerce, education, science, culture, and several other areas, as well as to redefine already established partnerships.
For the Government of the Republic of Armenia, equitable development of regions is one of the priority issues. I am convinced that interregional horizontal interactions create an excellent opportunity for the development of the educational and cultural life of the regions, as well as for strengthening the friendly relations between our countries and peoples.
Although this conference is the ninth in number and there are already established connections and partnerships at the interregional level, there are still issues that need to be raised and resolved year by year.
Each year, the conferences are held under new themes, and this year's theme, 'Armenian-Russian Cooperation: New Challenges and Opportunities,' is more relevant and ambitious than ever.
For us, the active implementation of important projects at the interregional level is prospective, aimed at ensuring the further growth of our nations' economies and strengthening their competitiveness in global markets, as well as the introduction of advanced technologies.
There is no doubt that if we make use of the full potential of decentralized interregional cooperation, we will succeed in giving a new quality to the lives of our regional residents.
In this context, we can note that today’s Conference is yet another step in promoting decentralized Armenian-Russian cooperation, which has been formed and developed thanks to the determination and initiative of the regions of the two countries.
Once again, I welcome the participants of the Conference, hoping that tangible results will be recorded in this platform, which will impart new content to the existing interregional cooperation between our two countries. Thank you.”
