Samvel Karapetyan on Anti-Russian Statements in Armenia

Samvel Karapetyan, the president of the Tashir Group of Companies and the Armenian Businessmen's Association, has released a statement addressing anti-Russian remarks in Armenia. He emphasized the importance of preventing political manipulations during this historically challenging period for Armenia, stating that such actions considerably destabilize the situation in the country.

"Today, we are seeing numerous examples of provocations by various forces both within Armenia and beyond its borders, which inevitably lead to further escalation. It is crucial to assess these critical risks and thwart any further hostile rhetoric regarding Armenian-Russian relations," he noted.

Karapetyan advocated for stabilizing the situation in Armenia not through populist declarations but through structured efforts aimed at strengthening the state, based on genuine geopolitical allies, with Russia being the primary one. "Many wish to benefit from the destabilization in Armenia, but we must remain firm in our convictions. We cannot overlook the fact that in recent years, Russia and Armenia have developed stable partnerships and allied relations in various sectors, including military-technical, economic, cultural, and social domains."

He emphasized the significant Armenian community in Russia, which maintains close ties to their historical homeland. "We must seriously consider the reckless statements being made today, which aim solely to create division between our two allied states. Armenia needs peace today. Therefore, I find it extremely important to halt the hostile anti-Russian rhetoric and rally the strength of the Armenian community in Russia around Armenia," Karapetyan concluded.
