Red Cross Not Involved in Process of Transferring Bodies of 32 Armenian Soldiers to Armenia

The Armenian office of the Red Cross has stated that it was not involved in the process of transferring the bodies of 32 Armenian soldiers to the Armenian side. Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs at the Red Cross's Armenian office, made this remark in an interview with "Factinfo."

“The transfer of the 32 bodies was carried out without the Red Cross. We have been working and continue to work during the forensic examination process, including providing consultations to those conducting it. We are collaborating with the organizations organizing the process and await further clarification on their subsequent steps,” said Amatuni, noting that they are also ready to participate in the repatriation of the bodies.

Earlier, the Armenian office of the Red Cross confirmed that Azerbaijan had indicated its intent to return the bodies of 100 soldiers to the Armenian side. The Red Cross is unaware if the already transferred 32 bodies are included in that number.

As of now, the Ministry of Defense has only confirmed the transfer of the 32 bodies of Armenian soldiers.
