My Visit Was Planned Much Earlier: Pelosi Clarified
“My visit was planned much earlier; since last week, but it so happened that we came here at a time when we can also personally condemn Azerbaijan’s unacceptable and threatening actions that jeopardize the success of the peace process,” said Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi during a speech today at the Sergei Parajanov Museum in Yerevan.
The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives announced that the U.S. supports the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The United States, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and a friend of Armenia, is committed to supporting a stable, peaceful negotiating process and resolution. The U.S. has long indicated that this conflict cannot have a military solution. Ongoing military actions will lead to the loss of new lives, new displacements, and a heavy price will be paid for it,” Pelosi stated.
She added that the U.S. is monitoring this issue. “For President Biden and Congress, this is a priority direction, and we are committed to security, stability, and peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives noted.
