Clear Sanctions Could Halt Azerbaijan's Expansionist Ambitions: Alen Simonyan
A meeting with U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has just concluded, during which regional issues and a broad range of bilateral cooperation were discussed. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, in a joint statement with Speaker Pelosi.
“Ms. Pelosi's visit to Armenia during this critical period is exceptionally important for us, as we have always felt her support in our most challenging and sensitive issues,” noted Simonyan.
The Speaker revealed that during the meeting, they talked about the military aggression of Azerbaijan against Armenia's sovereign territory on September 13. “Any U.S. assistance is vital for our statehood; clear sanctions can stop Azerbaijan's expansionist ambitions and the authoritarian war against democracy,” Simonyan stated.
