Russian Foreign Ministry Announces Start Date for New Road Through Lachin Corridor

Denis Gonchar, director of the fourth department for CIS countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated in an interview with RIA Novosti that the new road through the Lachin Corridor, connecting Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh, will be operational starting April 1, 2023.

“The main result of the efforts undertaken over the last month is that the new road through the Lachin Corridor will begin to operate from April 1, 2023. Moreover, since August 30, movement is being carried out via a temporary route, bypassing the city of Lachin and other settlements that are within the security zone of the old highway of the corridor,” Gonchar announced.
