Fire in the Border Surveillance Area of Noravank: Rescuers Discover the Body of a Soldier
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported that on September 14, at 1:00 PM, information was received at the Syunik regional crisis management center about a fire that broke out near the village of Noravank.
One firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the MES was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the fire had started in a border surveillance area.
Rescuers discovered the body of a serviceman in the specified area and transported it to a military medical service vehicle.
The fire was contained by 4:25 PM and extinguished by 4:54 PM. Approximately 10 hectares of grass cover were burned.
