Cavusoglu Accuses Armenia Once Again
The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has once again accused Armenia of provoking tensions. He stated, 'If we want peace and stability in the region, Armenia must renounce provocations and take sincere steps towards cooperation and peace.'
He added that Azerbaijan could not leave these provocations unanswered. Çavuşoğlu mentioned that the clashes along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border demonstrate how fragile the situation is in the region. 'Azerbaijan has offered Armenia a peace treaty, to which Armenia did not respond for a long time. With our advice and under the mediation of the European Union, the foreign ministers were instructed to work on this matter. On the other hand, a demarcation commission was established for border clarification,' he said, insisting that 'despite this, Armenia engages in provocations from time to time.'
It is worth mentioning that the Azerbaijani side triggered intense military operations along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border from midnight on September 13.
