Video: Tensions Remain High, Intensity of Positional Fighting Has Decreased – MoD
The Ministry of Defense has reported on the situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. As of 21:00, the situation remains tense. However, the intensity of shelling of Armenian positions, settlements, and civilian infrastructure, as well as the direction of positional fighting towards Nerkhin Hand, Verin Shorja, Artanish, and Sotk has significantly decreased.
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia continue to carry out their assigned duties fully, providing necessary responses against the adversary.
“The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, continuing its blatant deceitful approach and attempting a large-scale aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, has issued a statement alleging that the Armenian armed forces violated the ceasefire agreement announced today starting from 9:00, by shelling Azerbaijani positions. This statement from Azerbaijan’s defense ministry is clearly absurd, as since midnight, Azerbaijani armed forces units have not ceased their shelling and bombardment of Armenian positions, settlements, and civilian infrastructure for even a moment. This falsehood again proves that Azerbaijan’s military-political leadership deeply disregards the opinion of the international community by spreading blatant lies about Armenia's supposedly aggressive actions. The MoD of Armenia announces that it has exclusively responded to the large-scale aggression unleashed by official Baku,” stated MoD spokesperson Aram Torosyan.
Recall that on September 13, starting from 00:05, Azerbaijani armed forces units began to conduct intensive fire towards Armenian positions in the directions of Goris, Kapan, Sotk, Jermuk, Artanish, and Ishkhanasar using artillery systems and large-caliber firearms, also employing drones. The adversary is striking both military and civilian objects and is attempting positional advances in certain directions. The Armenian side has reported 49 casualties and 43 injuries, three of whom are civilians.
