Georgia Ready to Mediate in the Escalating Conflict Between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Georgia is ready to mediate in resolving the escalating conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairman of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party, to reporters on September 13, according to Regnum.
"We are extremely interested in this matter, and if Georgia can play any mediation role, we will do everything we can to facilitate that," said the party chairman.
It is noted that since 00:05, Azerbaijani Armed Forces have been intensively firing on Armenian positions in the directions of Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk using artillery, large-caliber firearms, and UAVs. According to the Armenian Ministry of Defense, as of 8 AM, there has been no significant change in the situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. The adversary continues to use artillery, mortars, UAVs, and large-caliber firearms in the directions of Vardenis, Sotk, Artanish, Ishkhanasar, Goris, and Kapan, targeting both military and civilian infrastructure.
Clashes are ongoing in certain sectors of the border, and the adversary does not cease its attempts to advance.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while presenting the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border to the National Assembly, stated that preliminary information indicates 49 casualties; however, this number is not final as the exact figure will be provided by the Ministry of Defense upon clarification.
