Two Residential Houses Damaged Due to Azerbaijani Criminal Actions: Artsakh Defender's Office Reports on Gunfire

On September 12, around 04:00-04:30, Azerbaijani forces opened fire from positions located in front of the communities of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard in the Martuni region of the Republic of Artsakh, using various calibers of firearms. The gunfire lasted for about 30 minutes. This was reported by the Artsakh Human Rights Defender's Office.

"According to verified information at this time, two residential houses in the Karmir Shuka community were damaged as a result of Azerbaijani criminal actions. In one case, a bullet struck the door of a balcony on the second floor and penetrated the living room. All four members of the household, including one minor, were in the house and were awakened by the gunfire. In the other case, a bullet hit a swing set located in the yard of a residential house. Additionally, one house in the Taghavard community was also damaged by Azerbaijani gunfire, and a large caliber projectile from a DSHK type machine gun was found in the yard of a neighboring house," the report stated.

The staff of the Human Rights Defender's Office is continuing to collect facts regarding the damages among the civilian population due to the gunfire. These actions are yet another proof of Azerbaijan's criminal behavior directed against the life, physical, and psychological integrity of the people of Artsakh, as well as the ethnic cleansing policies being implemented against the people of Artsakh, aimed at terrorizing residents and disrupting their normal lives and activities,” it noted.
