Employees of the 'Petak' Trade Center Stage Protest in Front of the Government

Employees of the 'Petak' trade center and head of small businesses are staging a protest in front of the government, demanding the full reopening of Kiristapori Street, which leads to the trade center.

It should be noted that Kiristapori Street has been closed for days following the explosion at the 'Surmalu' trade center. After some time, the employees of 'Petak' protested, claiming they have been left without work, and the street was partially reopened.

“We have been on strike for 3 days now. We demand that the road be fully cleared; there is construction debris, and the sanitary situation is alarming. The market area has become inaccessible; no one is entering, and everyone has been left unemployed. Now we demand that two of us be allowed to go to the government and present our issue to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as we believe our concerns have been misrepresented there,” said one of the local entrepreneurs.

They expressed that it would be beneficial to quickly dismantle the 'Surmalu' building, as its presence psychologically pressures everyone. A government representative came and accompanied two employees of the trade center to the government building.
