European Union Reduces Gas Injection Rates into Underground Storage
The European Union has reduced the volume of gas injected into underground storage facilities in September by 13.5% compared to previous months, according to preliminary data.
Currently, there are 90 billion cubic meters of gas stored in European underground facilities, with an overall filling level reaching 83.27%, increasing daily by 0.28 percentage points.
Since the beginning of autumn, more gas has been withdrawn from the storage facilities than has been injected in Belgium, Denmark, and Poland. The heating season typically begins in mid-October, although it started in November last year.
Gas reserves usually provide 25-30% of the 'blue fuel' consumed in Europe during the winter, as reported by the European Commission.
