Exploiting Grief for Profit is a Sin: Nazaryan Sounds Alarm
Gegam Nazaryan, a member of the Armenia faction in the National Assembly, wrote on his Facebook page:
“The day before the Feast of the Cross, September 10, Yerevan, Khorenatsi Street. Flowers are not usually sold here. Today, they are being sold at significantly higher prices, incomparably higher prices. The florists know that today, tomorrow, and the day after there will be many visits to cemeteries. They know and take advantage of people's grief, sorrow, and misfortune.
These individuals are also participating in the elections; they are part of the decision-making regarding our country's present and future. They have laid out their flowers right in the capital, right on this very street, eagerly waiting for their victims, and there will be many victims.”
“And we still have not learned that exploiting grief for profit is a sin; we have not learned that the capital is not a marketplace. These are wonderful times for this type of activity, which is why they look into your eyes and say, ‘Oh, if only they hadn’t fallen victim...’”
