Why Police Detained Young Singers at Freedom Square: Details
After midnight from Freedom Square, three individuals were detained by the Central Police Department under Article 172.3 of the Administrative Violations Code of the Republic of Armenia (insulting a police officer or soldier). This has been reported by the police.
According to Article 172.3 of the Administrative Violations Code of the Republic of Armenia, publicly insulting a police officer or soldier in connection with their duties to maintain public order and ensure public safety results in a fine ranging from twenty to fifty times the minimum wage.
Earlier, Facebook user Tatev Hovhannisyan reported on her Facebook page that a group of young individuals singing patriotic songs in Yerevan's Freedom Square had been detained by the police.
