Taron Was One of the Many Sons Who Volunteered for War: Avetik Chalabyan

I never had the fortune to know Taron Andreasian in life, and like all of you, I learned about him from the incredible footage shared on Telegram. This was stated on Facebook by public-political figure Avetik Chalabyan.

“Taron was one of the many sons who volunteered to go to war, yet he was one of the few who not only refused to retreat but decided alone to stand against the enemy, valuing his and his homeland’s honor above life, consciously and selflessly sacrificing it, causing terror and horror to the enemy.

Looking back at Taron’s heroism, one can assert that if all of us, or at least the majority of us, had Taron’s selfless awareness, we would have won this war, just as we had won the previous one. We would not be living today with the stigma of defeat, and the victor would not periodically humiliate us with new encroachments and demands for concessions.

Unfortunately, this time it didn't happen that way; the Tarons remained in the minority and paid with their lives for the indifference, materialism, and fears of the majority.

However, we owe an everlasting debt to the memory of Taron. If we want his heroism to find meaning, if we wish for new shoots to emerge from the blood he spilled, for our nation to endure, we must educate our children to be Tarons—selfless, brave, and patriotic. Our children must turn this dark page of history, together forge new victories, shake off the stigma of defeat, and immortalize the memory of Taron Andreasian, along with many known and unknown Tarons.

Forever glory to you, Taron Andreasian, glory to your lived life and your immortal heroism, and deep respect to the parents who gave you life and raised you.”
