Opposition Leaders Count Every Dram in Their Teams: "Hraparak"
"Hraparak" newspaper writes: "Many believe that former presidents have enormous financial resources and spare no expense in fighting against Nikol Pashinyan, spending unlimited amounts of money and even paying participants to attend rallies. In reality, according to our information, opposition leaders struggle to spend money, and every dram is counted within their teams. During joint actions, they proportionally distribute all expenses. Sometimes disagreements arise over who should cover the costs of the protests and how team responsibilities should be divided.
On July 19, if you remember, the opposition announced that they were postponing the rally scheduled for July 21 by a week due to the heat. Our sources say that, in fact, the parties could not agree on who should cover the rally’s expenses this time. The main expenses are associated with stage and technical setups.
We tried to get comments from representatives of the forces involved in the movement, but the most active figures from the teams, Arsen Babayan, Armen Ashtoyan, and Agnesa Khamiayan, stated that they are not involved in financial matters and cannot comment. Nonetheless, we learned that setting up a stage and technical equipment in France Square for one day costs 1 million 700 thousand drams. This amount is split during joint rallies, with half paid by Serzh Sargsyan’s office and the other half by Robert Kocharyan.
