Materials Related to Hayk Marutyan ‘Discovered’
The materials regarding former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan are now with the Anti-Corruption Committee. This information is reported by the '168 Hours' publication.
According to the website, the committee has informed them that the materials were just received. Earlier, it was reported that materials are being prepared at the Nor Nork police station regarding an incident that occurred during Hayk Marutyan's term as mayor.
According to sources, information was received by the Yerevan police that on February 18, 2019, Hayk Marutyan granted permission for the design and subsequently for the construction of a 'restaurant complex reconstruction, expansion, and new facility construction' in the area located at 110 Bagrevand Street, without altering the intended use for industrial subsoil resources and other production purposes.
There were also reports that the materials regarding the project for the reconstruction, expansion of the restaurant complex, and the granting of the construction permit had ‘disappeared’ under the responsibility of former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan. Sources from the Prosecutor General’s office informed News.am that the materials regarding this case were sent from the police to the prosecutor's office and then to the Anti-Corruption Committee.
However, the Anti-Corruption Committee has been assuring the media for the second day that there are no materials on this case. 'We have no information,' they stated.
It should be added that just yesterday, the Republic of Armenia Investigative Committee confirmed to Auroranews that 'the case has been terminated and sent to the Anti-Corruption Committee.' The agency did not provide further details.
